Two man charged in separate impaired driving incidents

first_imgChatham-Kent police dealt with two impaired driving incidents over the weekend.Officers quickly reacted to a report of an impaired driver in downtown Chatham around 2:45 a.m. Monday.The vehicle was located and stopped on King Street. The driver, a 42-year-old Chatham man, was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol.He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further breath tests, which showed he had more than double the legal limit of alcohol in his body, police said.The accused was charged with operation while impaired and having a blood-alcohol level over 80, and later released with a future court date.Police said an officer stopped a vehicle on Lowe Street in Wallaceburg around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.The driver, a 25-year-old Walpole Island man, was arrested for impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level over 80, police said.It was also discovered the accused was wanted on several outstanding warrants, resulting in a charge of faiingl to attend court also being laid, police said.Intoxicated man arrestedA 52-year-old man was taken to police headquarters to sober up after Chatham-Kent police were called to an Orchard Heights home Saturday night.Police said the man was found drunk and refused to go back into his home when told by police, resulting in his arrest.Break and enterChatham-Kent police are investigating a break and enter at a Curran Crescent property in Chatham.Police said several outbuildings were entered some time between last Thursday and last Saturday, resulting in the theft of a red and white Honda motorcycle solo saddle and a blue mountain bike.Anyone with information is asked to contact Const.
