Hawaii thanks trade with launch of Mahalo Month

first_imgWith travel from Australia to Hawai’i growing by 33.2 percent from January to November last year (over 2011), and with another record breaking year expected in 2013, Hawai’i Tourism Oceania has announced the launch of the Mahalo Month program for its travel trade partners.“A token of its appreciation” for the “tremendous support” of the industry, the initiative provides Hawai’i selling professionals with special rates and offers for travel to Hawai’i, including discount airfares, accommodation and touring options.Mahalo Month will run from April 1 to May 31, 2013.Hawai’i Tourism country manager, Helen Williams, said the Mahalo Month program was “an ideal opportunity to experience Hawai‘i’s unique culture, warm hospitality and unlimited possibilities for adventure, romance, dining and shopping”.  “It is through their partnership that we can continue to meet our objective of increasing visitor arrivals to the islands,” she said.Among other special offers, accommodation rates start from US$85 per night, while some tours are offering a 50 percent discount on bookings.Travel professionals must download a ‘Mahalo Month For Travel Professionals’ card from the campaign website (www.mahalomonth.com) along with a business card or company authorization letter and a valid picture ID to receive the Mahalo Month special rate.      Bookings for hotels, tours and attractions must be made directly with the participating Hawai‘i visitor industry partner.
